Are you going to add print option back on to rev 8, if not, I need to start looking for another provider that doesn't think me smart enough to safeguard my own business.

Thank you for the detailed reply! Our product team relies on feedback like yours to help push 1Password forward and, while I can't promise anything, I've added your comments to the internal tracker that we use to help plan future features for 1Password. I'd just like to respond to a few points:
First, if I only have my passwords stored at 1Password, I am vulnerable to any problems or issues logging in to 1Password (as rare as they are, they can and have occurred).
There are a few different ways that 1Password protects you from being locked out from your data:
- If you lose one of your devices then you can still access your data on your other devices or on 1Password.com
- If you lose all of your devices then you can still access your data on 1Password.com
- If 1Password.com were to suddenly disappear tomorrow then your devices will still have an offline cached copy of your data.
Your encrypted data is also replicated to redundant copies on our end to guard against any data loss.
Further, if someone other than me were having trouble accessing my 1Password using my emergency kit, or even a separate vault set-up just for those passwords, could they get help from AgileBits to access my vault? Would you be able to help them? Would you require a death certificate? I have to assume that the company would rather stay out of these situations?
We have no ability to provide access to 1Password data, even if an original account holder asks us to let them in. We just don't have that capability since the account password is the key that transforms a user's encrypted data into a readable form. That's how we help preserve user security and privacy: only the user themselves can ever access their data. For the highest level of privacy, we designed our system so that we only ever have the encrypted gibberish and none of the data on our end is in its usable form. So even if the user themselves contacts us requesting access to their data because they've forgotten their account password we're unable to help, not because we don't want to help but because it's technically impossible for us to give anyone (including ourselves) access to a user's data.
If you print your Emergency Kit and write your account password down on the kit then you can give the kit to a trusted person so that they can access your 1Password account in an emergency.
Also, if I were to initiate two-factor authentication, this would further complicate the issue.
If you enable two-factor authentication for your 1Password account then you would need to store the two-factor authentication secret or QR code with your Emergency Kit and provide that to your trusted person as well if you'd like them to access your account in an emergency.
It seems odd to hold the position that you took away the option to print the full (formatted) list because you donโt think we should.
It may seem like semantics but I will note that the feature wasn't taken away. 1Password 8 is a completely new app that was written from scratch and some features haven't been added yet. As I said, I've passed along your feedback and request to the product team so that they can consider building a print feature for 1Password 8 in the future. ๐
