Problem with 1Password for Mac

Hello there,

You guys have a bug with the 1Password Chrome Extension for Mac.

I just used the Chrome Extension to choose a new password for a website, and 1Password asked me if I wanted to update my existing 1Password item with the new password.

I told it YES, I want to update my existing 1Password item with the new password.

Guess what it did?

It DID successfully update my existing 1Password item with the new password. So thankfully, at least that part work properly, since that is the most important part.

However, it did NOT update the "last edited time" of that item in 1Password.

So when I look at that item in 1Password, it says that it was last edited 3 years ago, even though I just edited it a few seconds ago.

Yes, it shows the new password in the "view password history" section in 1Password, and it shows that i just updated that particular password a few seconds ago.

But the "last edited time" for the entire item in 1Password still shows 3 years ago.

Can you please fix?

Thank you!
Scott

  • Hello scotty321! 👋

I'm sorry that the "Last edited" timestamp didn't update when you changed your password, that definitely isn't right. I've tried to reproduce the issue on my end using a test website but I don't see the same behaviour.

When I click on the password suggestion that 1Password generates for me on the page I see a prompt to update my existing Login item in 1Password with the new password. That updates the item and changes the "Last edited" timestamp. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:

    1. On which website did you run into the issue?
    2. Can you reproduce the issue on other websites?
    3. Do you see the incorrect "Last edited" timestamp when you log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app)?
