Random spaced out sign in notifications

After latest updates this has started happening.
I am getting random signing in notifications that seem to be spacers out in hours.
I do sometimes sign to website, but this is happening without signing into website.
I think after iOS 17 or 1Password latest update is causing this.
I think it is being triggered by the app itself after latest update.
Not sure if iOS17 or 1Password latest is causing.

Thank you for the reply. It sounds like you are running into a known issue that our developers are investigating. Affected users may receive multiple New sign-in email for each new session of 1Password in Safari. I've added your report to the work item open for the issue.

If you do have some reason to believe that someone else has obtained both your 1Password account password and Secret Key, then please send an email to support+security@1password.com so that the team can investigate further.

The overly frequent safari notifications seems to have stopped for now knock on wood.
So working accordingly now I hope.
πŸ˜† I see this post closing out very soon.

I do not have extension enable.
I went 12 hours without getting on the internet and when I did I had not gotten any new of those notifications to my E-mail, but as soon as I opened my 1Password app within 5 min I got a new safari notification to my E-mail and I did not sign in to my Acct. through the safari either. However I did sign into the discussions room here.
Then it just stopped and I did not get an another notification in the next hour as of this typo so far.
I been using Private Relay ever since it came out and it has never caused this with me.
So it has to be iOS17 or 1Password latest version because never did it before that.
Anyway I will stop drop this one, because I know you guys probably tired of me going back and forth about it.
Let’s just wait see if anybody else complains about it.
Surely it is not just me. Thanks

I noticed iOS 17 stepped up something new iOS settings, safari. scroll to bottom advance and you will see the new (advance tracking and finger printing protection) and I changed it to all browsing.
So it could be that maybe as well that could be causing it.

I understand private relay and yes I have it enabled.
However this just started two days ago.
Sounds like a possibility what you are saying.
    Thanks

It's pretty likely that you're receiving new device alerts because of Apple's new iCloud Private Relay, available in iOS 15 and higher, as well as macOS Monterey and higher. iCloud Private Relay will hide your IP address from sites and services that try to use it to track you. As it happens, your IP address is one of the identifying pieces of information that 1Password uses to determine which device or web browser you're using, hence the alerts.

These alerts can happen when you access 1Password on the web, but more commonly, they can also be sent by 1Password's new Web Extension, also introduced for iOS 15. That extension works in the background, and so alerts may seem to come in at "random."

That's the most likely situation here. I've seen it myself from time to time.

I have deauthorized these safari notifications by using the area in the app, but hours later I get notification again without actually signing in.
This has never happened before so blame the latest version of either I guess.

  • Hello bugwhat! πŸ‘‹

I'm sorry that you're receiving unexpected notifications. Are these email notifications telling you that you've signed into your 1Password account from a new browser or device? Or notifications on your device?

If you can remove any sensitive information, are you able to post a screenshot of one of these notifications so that I can better understand the situation?

I look forward to hearing from you.
