Request: Turn off username guessing in the apps [RESOLVED]
When I go to create a new login, the user name is prefilled with an email address I haven’t used in years. This shouldn’t have any email address, especially when I use Fastmail’s masked emails. I hop...

Hello everyone,
I'm happy to share that, with the latest update to the stable version of 1Password (8.10.78), our team has added a setting to turn off the prefilling of usernames when creating new items in the app:
You can find instructions on how to update here: How to keep 1Password up to date
Thanks again for all of the feedback and for always helping us make 1Password more useful for your needs and your workflows.

1P_Dave, any info about when this "feature" can be disabled in the options?
It's annoyed me since it was introduced, but I can't stand it any more.
Comically, this very forum uses an actual username rather than an email address to login, as do many other sites and systems.
This slows down creating new logins, it's a dumb "feature" that should never have been implemented without a way to disable it.
Can you provide a link to download the version prior to this "feature" being added?
Like others in this thread, I'll be looking for a new password manager at my next renewal if it can't be turned off.

How about providing a link to download the last version before the "feature" was added?
I'm happy to sit on an out-of-date version until either it can be disabled, or I reach my renewal date and leave 1password.

I don't recommend using an out-of-date version of 1Password since you'll be missing the latest bug fixes and security updates. 1Password stores the most important information in our lives and it's important to keep the app updated.
If you're saving logins for websites then have you tried using 1Password in the browser to save the login instead: Save and fill passwords in your browser

I don't recommend prepopulating username and password fields, but here we are.
Can you share a link to download the version before the "feature" was added?
