Reviving: 1P~ discussion/125140/where-is-the-desktop-icon-for-version-8-4-0
On Windows 10 v22H2. I did have, at one point, a program icon in my app drawer and had pinned it to my Taskbar. I no longer enjoy that convenience and the browser hook doesn't 100% call the executabl...

Hi Dave,
Thanks for checking in on this. You've got my query dialed in correctly. I'll attach these screenshots with brief context, to shed additional light on my query. The odd install issues persist, however. Clarification: I performed reinstall after noticing that the browser extension did not call the desktop app; the DT app did not execute. When I looked for the DT app, it appeared to be missing from the system (based on my non-guru assessments; shown in pics). After a brief search, it appeared to be uninstalled/missing from my system. Clarification: I installed from the 1P website verified URL. Additionally, I'm ready and willing to produce any log files which may help. Please excuse the lengthy reply, and thanks again for your input!

- WIN KEY/WIN MENU — Search for "1Password;" — pic shows the WIN button/menu showed no 1Password in the search, even now, after I've reinstalled.
- WIN KEY/WIN START MENU — Missing Start icon — pic shows a blank space where the 1P DT app icon was previously user-arranged. After the DT app reinstall, the icon is still not present.
- WIN KEY/WIN START MENU — Missing Start icon — pic shows no DT app icon and also no notification re: "New" installations (admittedly could be since I didn't perform an uninstall 1st).
- WIN SYSTEM TRAY — Active app icon present — pic shows that the active app icon is enabled after reinstall; was not visible in systray prior to reinstall.
- C:\Program Files\ — no executable folder — pic shows no install folder for 1P; (understood, I think, that the app installs in User folder vs the "old way").
- C:\Program Files (x86)\ — no executable folder — pic shows no install folder for 1P; same understanding re: install behaviors).
- User AppData\Local\ executable folder present — pic shows 1P installed in User\Local; logfile available on request.
Thanks for reading and certainly thanks for your insights. I hope this additional info helps clarify my query. Please feel free to let me know any additional detailed info you may need to address it, eg-newest install log.
Kind regards,
Scott
