Thanks for answering. I don't think I was running 1Password from the App Store, as I've been getting prompts inside of 1Password when there were updates. And now I'm having the same problem on a second Mac. Here's what I did as best as I can recall:
- Read the email about the new SSH and Git features.
- Discovered that I needed the Mac 8 beta to try the features.
- Found the Mac Beta 8 page at https://releases.1password.com/mac/beta/
- Download and run the 1PasswordInstaller app.
- Was prompted for the master password to my 2 1Password accounts (one family and one team)
- 1Password 8 gave me a brief greeting and came up fine.
- Went to Safari, and discovered that the new features at Github weren't working.
- Went to Safari > Preferences > Extensions, and saw that I was still running the version 7 extension.
- Disabled the version 7 extension.
- Quit Safari.
- Tried to throw 1Password 7 in the Trash. Got an error that it was still running.
- Right clicked on 1Password in the menu bar and chose "Quit 1Password completely"
- Threw 1Password in the trash and emptied the trash.
- Restarted Safari and tried to re-enable the 1Password extension, but it was missing.
- Quit Safari.
- Opened a terminal and ran the "/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -f -R /Applications/Safari.app" command. (I'm a programmer so I caught the newline problem and fixed it.)
- Started Safari.
- The 1Password extension was still missing.
I think I'm going to try a reboot and maybe the lsregister command again to see if that helps.
Thanks,
