Safari Password Overlap
This happens in Safari often enough to be annoying but not every time. I disabled the Safari setting for Auto fill web forms: User names and passwords but then I found I couldn't use my 1Passwor...

7 months agoI'm sorry that you're running into issues when signing in using a passkey saved in 1Password. I suspect that you're running into a known issue where 1Password for Safari can timeout and pass the passkey request along to macOS.
So that I can confirm that you're running into this issue, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from 1Password in your browser:
Sending Diagnostics Reports (browser extension
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.
With your email please include:
- A link to this thread: `https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/safari-password-overlap/151314/replies/151594`
- Your forum username: `jg3`
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. **Please post that number here**. Thanks very much!

known issue where 1Password for Safari can timeout and pass the passkey request along to macOS.
In which "timeout" can be less than 1 second! I guess thanks Dave for admitting the truth that our business support is unwilling to be honest with us.
This has made 1Password utterly unusable in Safari, and has actually led to the company downvoting 1Password use company-wide because
- 1Password passkeys are unusable in most situations on Mac
- Technical support just runs in a loop denying this is a known issue and saying it must be something local to us

I'm sorry for the trouble. Are you able to provide me with the Support ID associated with your support ticket? It looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I'll be able to locate your message and have our team take another look.

[#CAJ-21925-732] from back at the beginning of September. The first responder David McLaughlin was very helpful, and you all pushed out something that took it from "never works" to "rarely works"... so it was an improvement. But David dumped the ticket on a level 0 person that keeps asking me questions already answered in the ticket and "oh let's set up a virtual meeting so I can waste your time with something widely reported in the forums and 100% replicable on even brand new macs"
Time is precious and hard to come by, as are meeting rooms. When everyone is reporting the same experience and it's trivial to replicate, "good support" means paying attention to what everyone is telling you, like here: https://www.1password.community/discussions/passage/passkeys-are-useless-w-1password/151714/replies/151715- 1P_Dave7 months ago

Thank you for posting the Support ID. I'm sorry that you didn't receive the support that you were expecting.
I've chased this internally and one of our Senior CX Technical Representatives will be reaching out to you directly via a new escalated support ticket. My colleague will be able to confirm that you're running into the issue being discussed in this thread and address any other concerns that you might have. Expect to see an email in your inbox soon.
