Search the single sign-on / signs in with list when adding / editing an item

With hundreds of vault items it is almost impossible to find the correct "single sign-on" / "signs in with" item when adding or editing an item, either through the browser extension or the 1Password 8 desktop app.

You have to know the exact item name and scroll through the hundreds of possibilities to find it with no way to search that I can figure out.

Please add search to this feature to make it useable!

You can find the list of supported sign-in providers here: Use 1Password to sign in to sites with supported providers

Perhaps you could give us a way to flag certain Login items as SSO providers. You could continue to automatically flag well-known providers like those you listed above, but then we could flag additional ones that you don't know about yet.

I'm not an engineer so I'm not sure if support for a provider has to be custom-built for that provider but I've filed a feature request on your behalf so that our product team can look into this for the future. I can certainly see how tagging your own sign-in providers would be extremely useful.

Thank you for the feedback! 🙂

    Dave,

Perhaps you could give us a way to flag certain Login items as SSO providers. You could continue to automatically flag well-known providers like those you listed above, but then we could flag additional ones that you don't know about yet.

I run a Plex server for my family, and there are a lot of related websites that support using Plex.tv credentials as their OAuth provider, so I would prefer to use a relationship in 1Password rather than duplicating the same credentials across Login entries.

P.S. Where is this list of providers documented? I tried looking for it, to figure out how you populated the drop-down, but this was the first mention I found.

P.P.S. I can confirm that I have dozens of those accounts, making me wish for a search feature in the drop-down, too! I maintain multiple personas in each of those domains.

Thank you for the clarification. I've passed along your feedback and request to the product team so that they can look into improving account discovery via the "sign in with" provider suggestion menu in the future. 🙂

I run an MSP that manages clients’ Microsoft and Google accounts.

Thank you for clarifying. At the moment you should only see Login items from the following providers in the sign in with menu:

    • Apple
    • Facebook
    • GitHub
    • Google
    • Microsoft
    • Okta
    • Twitter

Most folks will only have a handful of these accounts. So that I can better voice your request to our product team can you confirm that you have hundreds of these accounts and tell me a little more about the use case for having hundreds of different accounts across these 7 providers?

    No.

When I am adding SSO to a new or existing login item, 1Password, pops up a list of potential logins to use for SSO for that entry.

I want to be able to search that pop up list.

    Hi adamjb

I understand that you'd like to be able to search all your items using a specific method of "Sign in with"? If you search "Sign in with" then the method of choice like Google or Okta, you should see your items appear using this feature. If you're seeing something different on your end, let me know and we'll take a closer look into this for you.
