Search then copy (using shortcuts) copies the previously selected item's password
I've been experiencing this issue for about a week, where I'll copy a password and then it'll be rejected by the website. I've finally identified the cause and the steps to reproduce it (it's the wrong password!). I can't be confident when it was first observed, but I'd guess it's either the update following May 18th (1Password for Mac 8.8.0-94) or May 25th (1Password for Mac 8.8.0-104).
Steps to reproduce:
- Open 1Password
- Select an item from the list, so that the information about the item is revealed in the right hand pane
- Trigger focus on the search bar with cmd + f
- Type the name of an item, and select it with enter so that the item is revealed in the right hand pane
- Hit cmd + shift + c to copy
The resulting password on the clipboard is not the password of the newly selected item, it is the password of the previously selected item.
The issue occurs regardless of whether the previous item was selected in the current session or the previous, i.e: between steps 2 and 3 you can lock and unlock 1Password, and it'll also occur.
I cannot reproduce the issue by selecting items manually, i.e: if I click on one item, then another, then use the shortcut to copy, I get the correct password. Therefore I'd guess the issue is that when I select an item via search, it's not correctly updating the internal state to identify which is the focused item.
Thanks,
