To uninstall 1Password 7 and move forward with just having 1Password 8 installed, follow these steps:

1. Look for our helper in the menu bar near the WiFi indicator and the clock. Right-click (Option-click) on the helper and select quit 1Password completely.
2. Quit your browser.
3. Drag 1Password to the Trash. DO NOT use an app cleaner

I've been very pleased with the beta version and was thinking of uninstalling version 7.9, to avoid the confusion.

While it won't cause any major issues, it may get slightly confusing. When 1Password is requested to be opened (either from 1Password in the browser or a link), macOS will decide which app to open, and it may not be the app you are using or want to use at that time.
