Show one-time password QR / copy URI

Please add an option to show the one-time password QR directly from 1Password.

Right now, I have to open the login item, click edit, copy the one-time password field, click esc. Open Qrafter Pro, click create from clipboard, and finallly a QR code is generated.

Furthermore, please add a dropdown option to copy the one-time password URI or secret code without having to edit and copy.

Thanks for the reply. 1Password's CSV export includes the one-time password: How to export your data from the 1Password desktop app

If you'd like to save the one-time password in two different authenticator apps at once then I recommend scanning the QR code from the website using both 1Password and the other authenticator app when you're setting up two-factor authentication. Alternatively you can copy the TOTP secret from 1Password by editing the item (as you mentioned in your first post).

    Hi 1P_Dave!

I need the QR code to export the one-time password.

1Password is my main password manager, but I also use Ente Auth as a backup 2FA-code manager.

I'm moving away from apps/services that don't allow exporting these tokens:

    1) Authy never allowed exporting. There was a workaround using the desktop app but it was discontinued.

    1) Raivo OTP allowed exporting, but they messed up and deleted several tokens after an update.

  • Hello pmcarrion! 👋

Thanks for reaching out. Can you tell me a little more about why you'd need to see a QR code after saving a one-time password in 1Password?

It's usually the third-party site or app that you're looking to protect with a one-time password that would display the QR code so that you can scan the QR code using an authenticator app like 1Password. Once the one-time password is saved in 1Password you don't need to see the secret that the one-time password is based on in QR code form anymore.

Which service are you saving a one-time password for and why do you need to have 1Password generate a QR code of the TOTP secret for that one-time password?
