Hmm, maybe it was just a transitory issue, maybe related to being in a state after an automatic update. If I locked 1password, quit and restarted, all the vaults unlocked when I unlocked via the Apple Watch mechanism now. So the old "Did you turn it off and on again" did seem to fix it! Thanks

Hmm. That's odd. π€ If you turn off Touch ID in 1Password's preferences, lock, unlock all accounts with their account passwords, and then re-enable Touch ID, does that work?

For some reason biometrics is not unlocking all my accounts, only the first one all of a sudden (macOS 12.2.1, 1Password for Mac 8.6.0)
