Manually add a masked email to a password entry.

I've had quite a few websites that 1Password did not let me create a masked email for. So, I went into Fastmail and created the masked email.

Which is fine.

But… When you create a masked email in 1Password it adds a non-editable email field with a little Fastmail icon on it. I would really like to be able to manually add this field to 1Password entries for which I created masked emails outside of 1Password.

It would also be nice to integrate with other masked email providers such as SimpleLogin and Firefox Relay. Some other password managers integrate with a bunch of other email providers including Fastmail.

Hi PastaShock, thanks for writing in!

I can definitely see the benefit of an option to manually add a Fastmail masked email field if you have the integration active. I'd be happy to share your feedback with the team. That said, when you're using the integration we would also want to see those masked emails created automatically wherever possible. How often do you find yourself manually adding the masked email versus creating it automatically? Do you recall any websites where it hasn't worked recently?

I'd be happy to share your feedback regarding support for other providers as well. Would you see yourself using a specific provider given the option, or switching between any? Thanks again!

Not the OP, but I noticed the same issues. I don't remember the specific sites, but especially when changing the e-mail address, I frequently encountered situations where I was not given the option to generate a masked email.

One kind-of workaround was logging out, going to the sign-up page, creating the masked email there, and then pasting that in the existing entry. But the result is not the same and I don't think I had the option to edit an existing account with the masked e-mail in the same way that I could do this with new passwords.

I see another thread about this from 3 years ago marked as "solved," with the solution being that you let the developers know.

Well, here we are 3 years later, and I have set up Fastmail integration with 1Password. When it works, it's great. I like 1Password adding the Email field automatically to my entries. But if 1Password doesn't allow me to "create a masked email" inside the browser, there is no way to generate the masked email and have it added as an "email" field with the nice Fastmail badge in 1Password.

Have you implemented this feature yet?  Is it on the roadmap? If it is, can you tell me the ETA for it?
