Unable to install nightly build: "A JavaScript error occurred in the main process"

After restarting for upgrade to 8.10.6-5 Nightly restarted app crashes -- repeatable -- with this error message below. OS Big Sur 11.7.7. No changes here as far as I'm aware but re-installing v.8....
