I seem to be having the same issue. At, for instance, https://www.creditkarma.com/auth/logon (though this seems to be true everywhere), clicking in the password field and waiting a moment brings up the list of eligible passwords, and clicking on one autofills. On the other hand, if I hit Cmd-\ and hit “Return” on the highlighted item that says “Autofill,” nothing happens.
Safari 15.6.1, macOS 10.15.7.
