update procedure

  1. I'm on version 7.9.6 the app itself does have a pop-up that let's me know there is a new version, but if I click the 1password7>Check for updates, it reads:
    "You are up to date Thank you for running the latest version of 1Password!"
    why?

  2. So I should manually download the new version, and then what? delete the version 7? how? should I use an app such as app cleaner?

    To upgrade from 1Password 7, download 1Password 8 for Mac and install it from our website. Our installer will make sure that you're upgraded to the latest version and then will remove 1Password 7 from your Mac automatically.
