Why does 1Password create a huge drop down window when you click on the icon in web browser?

While working in a browser window, whenever I click the 1Password icon in the toolbar a huge drop down window opens often blocking the fields I need to fill with 1Password information. Can't the window open to the side, or separate from the browser window?
