"Your saved data appears to be newer than this version of 1Password can use."
Just downloaded today's nightly 1Password for Mac. It comes up with the following error message, then closes after clicking OK.
Downloading the production version got the same result.

2 years agoI'm sorry for the confusion. The article that you linked to describes how to reset the app using the "Reset 1Password" button found in 1Password > Settings > Advanced. Once you've reset 1Password using that button you'll see a backup of your database in the location mentioned with the following format: 1password_xxxxxxxxxx_v8.xx.xx.sqlite which you can remove by using the steps in the article if you wish.
In this situation, it's not possible to use the "Reset 1Password" button since the 1Password app can't be opened at all and that article's steps won't apply here. I recommend anyone else affected by this issue use the steps in my reply here.
