Can you help me understand more specifically when this is useful?  I am already using 1P for passkey storage for all sites I visit.  What is a use case where I would be storing/using a passkey when NOT in my browser?

In your case, most of the time this would be for desktop applications that offer passkey support on Windows. Discord is probably the main one I use with the new integration. Think of the integration as a way to make sure you have 1Password coverage no matter where you prefer to use your apps - in the browser or on the desktop.
