[18] (No) Sharing of 1Password App (login) sessions?

Somewhere I read that the new 2.0 CLI would share a (login) session with the 1Password App. Unfortunately I can't find that article anymore (I think it was a blog post by Dave Teare). Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought that this meant that I would no longer have to enter any 1Password credentials (on the command line) to use the CLI, when I'm already logged in in the (unlocked) 1Password App.

Did I misunderstand? Or is this still a feature on the roadmap?

Yes, that functionality is super important to me. I do see a note in the "Upgrading" page that says:

Right now, we're working on biometric unlock so you can authenticate your 1Password account on the command line using your fingerprint
    Maybe that's related?

    Indeed!

Looking forward to an answer from a 1Password employee.

I just installed the early access beta. I see the setting in 1P 8 that refers to this, but it seems that it is not yet in the CLI tool. I'm looking forward to seeing this.

Hi everyone, thank you for sharing this is important to you! I'm just as excited for this feature as you are and can't wait to get this in your hands. We have a couple finishing touches to make though, so please stay tuned for a little bit longer. We'll keep you posted here on the forum when this is available.

Hey folks, in case you missed it, just wanted you to know that we just released the biometric auth beta that shares authentication states between the desktop application and the CLI tool! You can find instructions within the sticky thread of this forum.
