3 years agoAfter inactivity the ssh agent is not running
I am using 1P8 on macOS and I enabled the SSH agent as instructed, so I can sign and authenticate with SSH keys that are stored in 1P. This works when 1P ran recently. When the computer is idle for a while, and 1P is being locked and not used for a while. The terminal fails to use the agent for git sign and git pushing.
The error is: "error: Could not connect to socket. Is the agent running?"
I have to manually open 1P to get it back to work. This is a little annoying.
Some relevant settings:
- "Keep 1P in the menu bar" unchecked.
- "Start at login" checked.
- "Unlock with Touch ID" checked.
- "Auto lock on sleep" checked.
- "Use the SSH agent" checked.
- "Ask approval for each new application and terminal session until 1P locks".
- "Connect with 1P CLI" unchecked.
Thank you.

I'm also seeing this issue. Should I do the same?

I'm experiencing the exact same thing, Google brought me here. Should I send diagnostics as well?

Hi @raphaelcp:
That definitely isn't the experience we want you to have when using 1Password SSH agent. I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:
