Exit code documentation

It would be nice to have documentation on the different exit codes and their causes. This would be very useful for tools that wrap the CLI to make it easy to call from scripting languages like Python. Currently, it seems like only two exit codes are used (0 and 1), which may require scraping of STDOUT to figure out what's going on.
