Dashlane hack
Can we be assured that 1Password canβt be compromised in a similar fashion to the attack on Dashlane.?
Hello loopless1β! π
That's a great question and we've actually written a few blog ports that go into detail on what makes 1Password uniquely resistant to attacks of this nature:
- Not in a million years: It can take far less to crack a LastPass password
-
How 1Password is designed to keep your data safe, even in the event of a breach
When it comes to online brute-force attacks, 1Password is designed to prevent them. 1Password protects your account using not only your account password but a randomly generated Secret Key as well. To sign in on a new device, both your account password and Secret Key are required. Together, these provide over 128 bits of entropy, making a brute-force attack against our servers practically impossible. For SSO-protected accounts, the trusted device model provides equivalent protection.
I hope that helps.
