Difference between "most recent" and "newest topics"?

I notice the new forums have tabs for "most recent" and "newest topics" at the top level of each discussion section. These sound the same to me but they show different posts. What gives?

    Hi again skatch!

    Good question. Most Recent includes all types of posts, whether it's a new thread or a reply. Newest Topics does not include replies, just the newest threads. Hope that helps!
