Benefits of the 1Password browser extension
About
In this quick video we're going to talk about all the benefits of the 1Password browser extension and why everyone should be taking advantage of these time-saving features.
Highlights
There's so many things you can do with the 1Password browser extension and here are some of the main ones:
- Use a suggested password: 1Password suggests strong passwords when you’re changing a password or signing up for a new account.
- Save your passwords: To save a login, enter your username and password, edit the title of the login and choose the vault where you want to save it. Then click Save or Update.
- Fill one-time passwords: You can use 1Password as an authenticator for a site that supports two-factor authentication. Follow the instructions on the website to turn on two-factor authentication and when you see a QR code click on Scan QR Code under More options to save it to that item.
- View and edit items: To view an item’s details, select it. Click on More Options, then you can choose Add to Favorites to mark the item as a favourite. You can also Edit the item which will open a new tab where you can add tags or custom fields, move it, archive it, or delete it.
- Share items: You can securely share copies of passwords and other items you’ve saved in 1Password with anyone, even if they don’t use 1Password. Just click on Share under More options. You can choose when the link expires and who to share it with. Then click Get Link to Share. Click Copy, then send the link to whoever you'd like.
