Is there a "best practice" for handling terminated employees' vaults? All we have found is the recommendation to suspend the account, log in as the user and change all their site passwords, then delete/deprovision the account. Seems like there should be a way to transfer that vault to a manager, then suspend/delete the user? thx27Views0likes3CommentsImprovements to 1Password Community coming May 22nd
Since re-launching 1Password Community in February, we’ve been taking note of every piece of feedback you’ve all shared so we can continue to make improvements. One trend we’ve seen in the feedback is that we need to make it clearer what posts should go where. The feedback also made it clear that we needed to simplify the navigation so people can get where they want to go quickly and easily. To that end, on Thursday, May 22nd we’ll be re-organizing 1Password Community to make it easier to navigate, find what you’re looking for, and know where to post. We’ll be simplifying the discussion board structure, reducing clutter on the 1Password Community homepage and in the navigation bar at the top of every page. We know lots of folks come here for support, so we’ve also added Get help to the main navigation to help you find existing answers, post a new question in the community, or contact 1Password Support. We hope you’ll find these updates helpful! What’s changing? In the new structure, we’ll have the following discussion boards: Announcements: This is a new discussion board where 1Password staff can share news and updates. 1Password at work: If you’re using 1Password products in your business, this is the best place to get help and share what you’ve learned. 1Password at home: This is the place to get help and talk about all things 1Password for personal cybersecurity and privacy. Developers: Just like before, we’ll continue to have a space for developers to chat with each other and members of the 1Password team. Lounge: Just like before, this space is for off-topic, just-for-fun, and 1Password-adjacent topics. Current discussion boards New discussion boards Lounge Lounge Password Manager 1Password at home Device Trust 1Password at work Passage Developers Developers Developers 1Password Administrators 1Password at work 1Password Developers: SDKs Developers Announcements Do I need to do anything? Nope! Your profile and credentials will stay the same. Will any posts be going away? No, any posts in discussion boards that are being retired will be moved to other discussion boards so that nothing is lost. For any bookmarked discussions that are moved, their old url will redirect you to the new one. When will these changes happen? These changes are scheduled for Thursday, May 22nd. We will share any updates if that changes. Staff will be standing by to help with any questions or concerns. If you have any feedback, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread. We love to hear from you and will continue to make improvements based on your feedback. Beyond these imminent changes, you can also start new discussion threads in the Lounge and use the tag Community Feedback at any time to share your suggestions!26Views0likes0Comments1Password app login vs Account login
Hello - I just upgraded from 1Password7 to 1Password8. It seems that when I log into the application (Mac, iOS), I have to use my "account" password. Since I created a complex password and I keep it in 1Password, it becomes a Catch-22 and I can't get to the password (I was able to retrieve it from the Apple Passwords app). Is there a way to have a different password for the app vs the account? Is there another solution to this (apart from using a different app to store the password for 1Password?) Thanks for your help.12Views0likes0CommentsNot prompted for 2FA when login from browser
I set up 2FA with hardware keys (Yubikeys) many moons ago, as well as with an Authenticator app, and these have worked previously when logging into the 1Password app either on my Macbook or iPhone. In other words, I have previously been prompted, upon login, to present a 2FA. However, today I logged into my 1Password account via browser and was asked for the password only with no prompt for the 2FA of any kind. I just entered my password and was in. Logging out from that same browser session did not make a difference; upon the next attempt to log in, I was again NOT prompted for 2FA. I went into Manage Two-Factor Authentication screen and indeed all four of the expected 2nd factors are listed. Additionally, for all but one of the clients/sessions listed under 'Linked to your account', I am given the option to 'Require 2FA on next sign-in' , but not for the web browser session in question (which is the one currently logged in). What step needs to be taken to ensure that 2FA is required when logging in via web browser, every time? FWIW, the browser is Brave. https://brave.com/latest/ Thank you.6Views0likes0CommentsIssue with SSO Login for Extension
Hello everyone, I'm facing an issue with the SSO setup for the extension in my company. Our setup automatically deploys the extension to the users. Additionally, I've set up a favorite bookmark that directs users to the correct login page, which only offers the option to log in with their Microsoft account (SSO) This setup works fine in granting users access to their profile page, but it doesn't log them into the extension itself. Since users never create a password, they cannot directly log in to the extension. I seem to be stuck in a loop here. What am I doing wrong?Solved20Views0likes1Commentoptions for same settings across company (GPO?)
Hello, My wish would be to roll out the software including settings for the entire company e.g. - password length for suggested passwords - autolock.onDeviceLock - autolock.minutes I tried a lot and found C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\1Password\settings\settings.json but probably the authtags are encrypted and individual on each PC, so I can't just copy this file? { "version": 1, "browsers.extension.enabled": true, "security.autolock.onDeviceLock": true, "security.clipboard.clearAfter": true, "appearance.interfaceDensity": "comfortable", "updates.updateChannel": "PRODUCTION", "security.autolock.minutes": 1, "authTags": { "appearance.interfaceDensity": "*", "browsers.extension.enabled": "*", "security.autolock.minutes": "*", "security.autolock.onDeviceLock": "*", "security.clipboard.clearAfter": "*", "updates.updateChannel": "*" } } Do you have any idea how I can distribute identical configurations? Thanks! Tobias72Views0likes7CommentsClient Access
I run an accounting firm, and many of my clients want to share their banking and credit card logins with my team so we can download statements and keep their books up to date. Right now, every time we log in, the bank sends the client a text with a verification code. They then have to send that code to us. This takes time and slows them down—especially for busy business owners. I want to make this process easier for them. Here’s my idea—can you confirm if this setup works? Create a business account in 1Password Set up a separate vault for each client Invite the client as a guest to their vault Let them add the login info they want to share with us That way, I can manage team access easily as staff members come and go. My main question: How can we get around two-factor authentication (2FA) so we can log in and pull bank statements without bothering the client every time?19Views0likes1CommentCustom icons for 1PW items
I just found the way to fix icons for Software Licenses - in Edit mode the little downward carat "v" shows up on the icon. Clicking on this brings up the text "Choose new icon..." selecting that brings up the Applications folder and when you pick the app - it changes the icon 🥳🎉 Now I'd like to figure out how to do this for other items. Is there a format it's looking for? maybe a PNG file? This could be related to this post Member: 1P_SimonH | 1Password Community I was commenting over there but probably nobody looks at "solved" posts. I've seen some items pick up common graphics from just the name and then other times that doesn't work.Solved42Views0likes4Comments
