1Password app login vs Account login
Hello - I just upgraded from 1Password7 to 1Password8. It seems that when I log into the application (Mac, iOS), I have to use my "account" password. Since I created a complex password and I keep it in 1Password, it becomes a Catch-22 and I can't get to the password (I was able to retrieve it from the Apple Passwords app). Is there a way to have a different password for the app vs the account? Is there another solution to this (apart from using a different app to store the password for 1Password?) Thanks for your help.18Views0likes2CommentsNot prompted for 2FA when login from browser
I set up 2FA with hardware keys (Yubikeys) many moons ago, as well as with an Authenticator app, and these have worked previously when logging into the 1Password app either on my Macbook or iPhone. In other words, I have previously been prompted, upon login, to present a 2FA. However, today I logged into my 1Password account via browser and was asked for the password only with no prompt for the 2FA of any kind. I just entered my password and was in. Logging out from that same browser session did not make a difference; upon the next attempt to log in, I was again NOT prompted for 2FA. I went into Manage Two-Factor Authentication screen and indeed all four of the expected 2nd factors are listed. Additionally, for all but one of the clients/sessions listed under 'Linked to your account', I am given the option to 'Require 2FA on next sign-in' , but not for the web browser session in question (which is the one currently logged in). What step needs to be taken to ensure that 2FA is required when logging in via web browser, every time? FWIW, the browser is Brave. https://brave.com/latest/ Thank you.11Views0likes1CommentRBC Website Login Fails
I don't seem to be able to delete this post -- but after several hours, the issue is gone. Absolutely no idea what happened nor what fixed it. (IMHO being able to delete a post would be frikkin' nice feature.) - - - - - - - - - - - This seems to have started in the last month, but TBH not sure. Landing on website 1P fails to identify the site from my list. Right-click doesn't invoke 1P. Clicking the 1P icon in the UID/PWD boxes reveals nothing and yields nothing. In the browser menu bar, if I click the 1P icon, it reveals the website login but will not AUTOFILL. macOS 15.5 Safari 18.5 (20621.2.5.11.8) 1Password for Mac 8.10.76 (81076034) Any help would be appreciated.9Views0likes1CommentWhy do I keep getting “Login already saved” screens?!
Since the team at 1Password apparently no longer wants to offer a way to contact them, I guess I have to post here instead of their support staff actually helping. A few weeks ago, I CONSTANTLY started getting these screens when logging into a website with a stored password or WHY ON EARTH AM I GETTING THESE RIDICULOUS SCREENS?! And HOW do I stop them? I assume these were added in some update, but I cannot find any way to stop them. I am about to cancel 1Password as a result. HELP! Thank you. I am having trouble updating passwords in safari using the 1password for safari app. I get a few issues: Gives me different errors when I try to update an existing password. Does not sync between the desktop version and the browser extension. When I get the error that I cannot update the existing password, I make the change to the password in the desktop app and have to copy the new password to use it because the syncing to the browser extension is either slow or does not happen. Anyone else seeing this?Solved87Views1like7CommentsMake CLI/SSH Key signer reinstallable independently
I have been getting recurring errors lately with the `op-ssh-sign` tool, these errors seem to align with updates to 1password? Its getting really frustrating that the fix is currently "uninstall & reinstall BOTH the CLI & the 1Password app", the only "silver lining" right now is that it is a homebrew cask so I can just run `brew uninstall` & `brew install` of both packages. But this seems like a bug at this point.1View0likes0CommentsAutofill not working Safari Mac Sequoia 15.5
For quite a time now, autofill is not working on MacOS 15.x. Ocassionally, it will populate after finagling but the majority of the time it does not. Quite a frustrating problem considering the amount of time spent on this. Not sure if it's a Mac problem - they seem to not care much about Mac OS anymore (more interested in iOS). Apparently my time is not important to Apple and not sure I want to drag on with them. Husband says autofill is working just fine on his windows machines. I may give up Mac OS completely for Windows or Linux.68Views0likes5Comments
