Hello, I’m a Level 2 Helpdesk Engineer, and I’m currently assisting a client who uses a personal 1Password subscription for both personal and business purposes. The issue is that the 1Password exten...

1 month agoHi Vlad, thanks for writing in.
From a quick test I wasn't able to reproduce this behaviour in an Edge work profile. It sounds like you've already covered this, but just to confirm, is the 1Password extension installed in the work profile in addition to the personal profile? If not, they can install 1Password in their work profile.
If so, here's what your client can try to reset the connection. They'll be signing out of the extension in this process so it may be helpful for them to have their account credentials on hand.
- Right-click the 1Password icon in the browser toolbar of the work profile and click Settings.
- Turn off the Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app.
- On the left sidebar click Accounts & vaults then click the three vertical dots ( ⋮ ) to sign out of the account.
- Sign back into the account.
- Fully close the web browser.
- Fully quit the 1Password desktop app.
After that, they can restart their computer. Once it's back on, they can continue with the following:
- Open and sign into the 1Password desktop app first.
- Left click the 3 vertical dots ( ⋮ ) in the top left corner and select Settings.
- Under Browser, ensure Connect with 1Password in the browser is checked.
- Re-open the Edge work profile and turn on the Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app option again.
Let us know how that goes, and thanks again.

Hi,
Yeah I tried all of these including the steps on the https://support.1password.com/connect-1password-browser-app/
But had no luck.I tried even both the GChrome and Edge extensions with different and similar settings but also didn't get anything out of it,
I exported the logs of the extension and it seems like there's a message with:Desktop app port disconnected. Error: Specified native messaging host not found.
I've asked the user to run the installer again after yesterday.

Thank you for the reply. Just to make sure did you follow the steps under the section titled: If your computer is managed by your organization
If you did, and that still doesn't work, then I'd like to ask you to create and share a 1Password diagnostics report from 1Password in your browser in the non-working profile:
Send a diagnostics report (browser extension)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com
With your email please include:
- A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password-work/1password-personal-and-work-edge-browser/168066
- Your forum username: Vlad
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!-Dave
