Enterprise updates - MSI Update Codes?

We're having some issues with Windows users getting the desktop client uninstalled. I've confirmed we're deploying the MSI package. My engineer is asking if the ugprade codes are built in so that the MSI can detect it at runtime and go into major update mode vs. us having to do an uninstall as well. Here is an example of the command:

"msiexec.exe" /i "AgileBits.1Password.8.12.2.37.X64.msi" /qn REBOOT=ReallySuppress ALLUSERS=1 MANAGED_UPDATE=1

Our users lack the ability to update the client themselves due to our desktop restrictions.

      This has been resolved. The short answer we got from support is that it does include the update codes. This can be closed.
