It's always good to be careful and cautious when it comes to security. 1Password checks for updates once a week:
- If 1Password is locked, it will update itself automatically when “Install updates automatically” is turned on in Settings > Advanced.
- If 1Password is unlocked, it will notify you that an update is available.
If you installed 1Password using the MSIX installer then admin privileges not required for updates. That being said, you mentioned that you have a diagnostics report and our team would be happy to take a look and advise further if you send the diagnostics report to support@1Password.com along with a link to this thread and, if you have it, a screenshot of the prompt that you saw. After emailing in, you'll receive a reply from BitBot, our friendly robot assistant with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I'll be able to locate your message and make sure it's gotten to the right place.
