1P8 Feedback: Edit shortcut from Quick Access and "Open in Separate Window"

In 1Password 7 you could easily edit items from 1Password Mini and in the "open in separate window"-style display of a single login item, using an inline editor that worked inside the window.

In 1Password 8, if I search for an item in Quick Access there is no simple way to open it in edit mode (the shortest way seems to be cmd-shift-o for open in 1password, then cmd-e for edit).

Ideally I would love to be able to keep editing items without even opening the main application, but I can see why you wouldn't want to support two different edit interfaces. Maybe a good solution could be to support an edit feature (with shortcut cmd-e) inside the quick access window to launch the main app in the "edit" state for the selected item? This could also be exposed as an Edit button in the "open as separate window"-window.

    Thanks for bringing this up, @anagram82! I can understand wanting to edit an item without opening the main app and therefore a list of other items. I'll add these notes to the internal tracker Jack mentioned above as well as a vote on your behalf to edit within the new item window opened from Quick Access. I appreciate you sharing this scenario and letting us know this is important to you. 🙂

    Lack of the edit option without opening the main app means that anyone around me is able to see a random list of websites in the sidebar. Previously I could add new item or edit existing items without anyone being able to see the list of websites.

    This has become very inconvenient as compared to 1P7 where it was possible to both edit and update entries without showing a random list of websites to anyone around me.

    For my problem, an alternative solution will be to hide the list of items in sidebar.

    Very much this! Having to open the full app to make an edit is extra clutter and a reversion from the previous app's capabilities.

    Search on the community page didn't return any results from the listing page. But when I put the terms "Quick Access Edit" in and searched again, I found this post that covers exactly what I wanted to post about.

    A small addition is that it would be nice if i could use cmd-n for "new item" in the quick access window as well. (In my mind, it would just open the main app and in the "create new item" state)
