1Password 7.9.6 for Mac mistakenly thinks iCloud is not enabled. Unable to sync

I have 1Password 7.9.6 for Mac on macOS 12.6. I have iCloud enabled in Mac System Preferences.

But at the step where it says "Used 1Password before?" and provides an option to "Sync using iCloud", the next step in the wizard says "iCloud is not enabled on this Mac." even though it is. Clicking the "Enable iCloud" button doesn't do anything. Can you help me out?
