3 years ago1Password 8 freezes when unlocking through the Chrome browser extension
The 1P 8 extension was doing great until the latest update. Now, unlocking through the Chrome extension freezes my computer completely for ~5-10 seconds. Is this a known issue?

I've had old extention called something "1Password (desktop app required)", now I removed it but there is some part of it that is still there somehow I think

I think there are some leftovers from old extensions which are kept in Chrome, because I have just removed all 1password extensions from Chrome, and when I am pressing CMD+\ (and if 1Password app is running) I get sometimes autofill and sometimes Chrome hangs. And if 1Password app is not running then nothing happens, as expected. How do we remove those old leftovers from Chrome?

I'm experiencing the same issue. Been having this freezing on and off for at least the past week, likely as much as 2 or 3 weeks.
It's always a spinning wheel in chrome after opening 1password via shortcut, for ~2s, sometimes becoming responsive again then spinning wheel again for another ~2-3s.1Password for Mac 8.9.4 (80904044)

Same issue here - using a shortcut to open the extension OR the quick search bar, Chrome will become unresponsive and my cursor will do the loading spin. Note that even after removing the extension the behavior persists.
I didn't have this issue with the previous version of the extension. The behavior started after downloading 1Password 8 and updating the Chrome extension.

Thanks Grey,
Looks a bit better when I unlock 1Password.Though when I use shortcut in a login form to auto-complete it with username/password, it's still like I'm mining bitcoin for a moment.

Hello @scottbuscemi, @onewing, @NpRob, and @RMueller
1Password in the browser for Chrome was updated to version 2.3.8 overnight, so double-check to see if Chrome has auto-updated 1Password's extension, and let me know if you're still having trouble with it if it has.
