1Password extension always opens in the wrong Vivaldi window (Windows 11)
Title: 1Password extension always opens in the wrong Vivaldi window (Windows 11)
Hey all,
I'm running into an annoying issue with the 1Password browser extension on Windows 11 (Vivaldi, latest stable).
When I click the 1Password icon or use the shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + X), the popup always shows up in the same Vivaldi window — even if I have a different one active. This happens every time, regardless of which window I'm actually working in.
Some more context:
- The popup doesn't appear next to the extension icon — it shows up dead center in a different, inactive Vivaldi window.
- It’s not draggable.
- Inline suggestions still work, but the extension popup itself always anchors to the wrong window.
- This happens no matter which monitor I’m on. It’s tied to a specific browser window, not display setup.
What I’ve tried:
- Fully updated Vivaldi and 1Password extension.
- Also tested with the Beta and Nightly versions of the extension.
- Restarted, reinstalled, disabled all other extensions — no difference.
- Tried changing Vivaldi’s “Use Native Window” setting — didn’t help.
This doesn’t happen in Chrome or Edge — only in Vivaldi. So I’m guessing it’s a focus/context issue between the extension and how Vivaldi handles windows.
Anyone else seeing this? Is there any workaround to force the popup to open in the currently active window?
Happy to help with reproduction steps or send logs if it helps.
Thanks.
