1Password not working with Chrome, yes working in Brave

I have a personal+work Linux, I installed 1Password using Ubuntu's Apt PPA. And I have a personal Brave browser installed, using Nix Home Manager, as well as a Chrome browser that is using a different profile - for work.

What doesn't work -
1. 1Password v8.10.55.2 extension in Chrome can't connect to the desktop application
2. "1Password Beta" v8.10.56.22 extension in Chrome also can't connect (but I can use Inspect on it) and it shows the usual errors, like described in the linked discussion towards the end -- https://1password.community/discussion/124126/sandboxed-application-cant-communicate-with-browser-extension/p2
3. 1Password v8.10.55.2 extension in Brave, also does not work.

What does work -
1. "1Password Beta" v8.10.56.22 extension in Brave, works! Connects to the desktop app.

Any suggestions on why would something work in one Chromium browser, and not work in another?

1Password Version: 8.10.54
Extension Version: v8.10.56.22
OS Version: Ubuntu 25.04
Browser: Chrome
