Bug: Duplicate context menu when right-clicking in Safari

Is there a fix to stop 1Password appearing in the context menu twice?

Currently in Safari if you right click in a text field, the context menu has duplicated entries for the 1Password section.

1Password Version: 8.10.46
Extension Version: 8.10.46.34
OS Version: macOS 15.0.1
Browser: Safari

  • Right-clicking anywhere on a page shows one 1Password item in the context menu, as expected. Right-clicking into a text box shows the menu item twice. This is with the extension enabled on Safari 18.6 on macOS Sequoia 15.7. The site tested is CNN.

      Hello AugustSaintFreytag! 👋

Thank you for reporting this! This is a known issue that is on our development team's radar to be investigated further.

For the time being, the duplicate shouldn't cause any trouble and you can use either option.

Two months and this still hasn’t been fixed? Does 1Password for Mac even get updates anymore? It’s not like the 8.11.4 was a world revolution, this and the little spacing adjustment could be done in an hour or two, including code review.

I can not understand why this has been marked as closed as the issue still exists.?

Currently using 1Password for Mac 8.11.22.

Welcome to the community! Marking a post as a solution to a thread doesn't mean that the issue/request itself is solved or closed. It's a way to highlight the most up-to-date answer for anyone who stumbles onto the thread in the future.

It appears that the issue is still open in our development team's backlog and I'm sorry for any confusion caused. You can use either option until the issue is resolved.

It seems this issue has been reported before on this post: Duplicate context menu | 1Password Community and I am also having this same issue, it has been two months and seems it hasn't been fixed yet.

It happens only on Safari. I'm on macOS Sequoia 15.5, Safari Version 18.5 (20621.2.5.11.8), 1Password for Mac 8.11.1 (81101001), 1Password browser extension version 8.10.82.29 81082029, on STABLE channel. Any updates on a fix for this? FYI was using 1Password 7 before and upgraded to 8 when this issue started to appear on my Mac.

I've merged your comment into the existing thread for the issue to keep the conversation in one place. The bug is still open in our developer's backlog to be fixed in a future update. For the time being, you can use either option.
