Add 1Password extension for Opera & Sidekick browsers
I wish to add my voice to the many requesting native browser extensions for Opera & Sidekick.
I've added Opera & Sidekick as trusted browsers using 1Password Support's process described here.

Hello folks,
I'm happy to share that you can now add Opera as an additional browser to 1Password for Windows. Follow these steps:
- Install 1Password in Opera from the Chrome Web Store: 1Password – Password Manager
- Add Opera as an additional browser to 1Password: Connect additional browsers to the 1Password app
A couple of notes:- Make sure that Opera is installed system-wide with admin permissions in the C:\Program Files folder.
- Opera is not an officially supported browser and you might run into unexpected issues.

Thanks for 1Password! However, the constant need to enter my password when using the Opera browser is frustrating. I would like to use both Opera and 1Password on Windows 11. Could you please let me know when the issue with the connection (desktop app and Opera extension) will be fixed? This problem has been going on for far too long. Thank you.

4 months agoThe 1Password for Windows desktop app can only connect to certain trusted browsers, such as Chrome and Firefox, that have been through a vetting and approval process. Opera isn’t one of these browsers, so it won’t be able to connect to the desktop app. This isn’t a bug but a security measure designed to make sure that only verified browsers can access your 1Password data. As a result, you’ll need to unlock 1Password in Opera separately each time you restart your browser, and features like biometric unlock won’t be available.
On Mac, the team has introduced a feature that lets you add your own trusted browsers (even if we don't support them officially) as long as they have a valid code signature. This option isn’t available on Windows yet, but it's something that our team is working on building and releasing.
