Auto sign-in after auto-fill "clicks" wrong button
Take https://www.slido.com/'s login page. The login form contains 2 buttons - "Forgot password?" and "Log in", in this order. The former has type="button" whereas the latter is type="submit", but the 1password's automatic sign-in feature interacts with the former and instead of login leads me to password reset.
This is not only wrong, but it's confusing as well as it might seem like the site's policy and user is therefore forced to reset her password for the wrong reason.

I'm glad to hear password autofill is now working. I've filed an issue regarding the Autosubmit problem for this website with our development team. While I can't give an exact timeframe for a fix, I recommend keeping 1Password up to date so you can receive the fix as soon as possible. You can find the release notes posted on our website:

Update - the password autofill is now working for me on Xtra, possibly a temporary issue on their site. However the incorrect selection of the wrong submit method persists; again, 1password is picking the type=button over the type=submit, possibly because it is defined first.

Hello, sshipway. Thank you for reaching out.
I apologize for the issue you experienced on the Spark Xtra website. I've reported the Autosubmit problem to our development team and included you as an impacted user in our internal records.
The 1Password extension utilizes the website page structure to identify clues for filling in, saving items, and suggesting Login items. Therefore, if a website's code is not correctly labelled, 1Password in the browser cannot recognize it as a field that can be auto-filled.
I couldn't recreate a password autofill issue on the Spark Xtra website. Are you experiencing this behaviour on the Spark Xtra page or a different website? Can you share the website URL so I can test it on my end?

This problem also occurs on the Spark Xtra webmail here ( https://webmail.xtra.co.nz/ ), which potentially affects about half a million users in New Zealand ...! Yes, disabling the autosubmit is an option, but many people will not realise what is going on at first.
In addition, 1password is often unable to correctly identify the Password field and only fills in the Username - I don't know what logic it uses to detect thepassword but it is clearly not as accurate as som of its competitors which manage the feat.
I am using plugin version 8.10.52.25 in Firefox 132.0.2

Hi 1P_Tommy , that's brilliant news, thanks!
I eagerly await the 2.26 release for Firefox!

You are correct. I show that 2.25.1 is the current available version for Firefox users. Hopefully, that will change in the coming days.

Hey 1P_Tommy , thanks for the update! It does help for any individual user, but fixing the underlying behavior to at the very least prefer "submit" buttons if they're present would be even better. Otherwise, our support will keep getting messages by users that don't know about this, and also it would just be nice to have this feature actually working on our login form, rather than having to disable it.
Also, at least for Firefox, the extension update seems to not have been rolled out yet, but I'll test once that's available

You can disable auto-submit on a per site basis now with the latest version of 1Password in the browser. 2.26.1. Does that help?
You can now manage automatic sign-ins for individual items. While viewing an item in the extension, select the ellipsis button and choose “Don’t sign in automatically”.

It may be worthwhile to consider moving the "Sign in automatically after autofill" setting into the 1Password app, and making that setting readable by the 1Password browser extension. In this way, the setting is maintained in the 1Password app and is persistent even when a user clears the browser's history.
