Autofill issues with subdomains on iOS
It seems that the iOS keyboard autofill integration does not respect the URL autofill behaviour setting.
I have two logins saved for ‘abc.example.com’ and ‘xyz.example.com’ and both are set to ‘Only fill on this exact host’ (not parent or subdomains).
When I open ‘abc.example.com’ and tap on the username field, the suggested login at the top of the keyboard is for ‘xyz.example.com’. If I tap on the key icon beside it to open up 1Password, the only login shown is for ‘abc.example.com’, which is correct.
I have several services running on different subdomains, so this behaviour is quite annoying.
I have replicated this on Firefox and Safari, although the Safari extension works as expected.
I have screenshots and a video of this happening if that’s helpful for the support team.
Hello bedesv! 👋
Welcome to the community! I'm sorry that AutoFill isn't behaving as you would expect it to, this is a limitation of iOS AutoFill which we've documented here:
If you use Autofill on an iOS device, settings you’ve chosen for specific hosts won’t be respected for login suggestions shown near the top of the keyboard or the bottom of the screen. To see the list of items with your autofill behaviors applied, tap the passwords key icon beside the login suggestion.
As you mentioned, 1Password in Safari does respect your set autofill behaviour. I hope that helps.
