Autofill not working with Aegis Authenticator
On my mobile phone, I have 1Password set up to autofill my login details on most of my apps, including Aegis Authenticator. Lately, however, the autofill has not been working on Aegis. When I open the app and press the button to fill in my password automatically, the password field remains empty. I have to go into the 1Password app and copy the password over myself. This is a minor inconvenience, and I'm not sure if it's an issue with 1Password or Aegis (all my other autofills still work as normal), but it is a bit annoying. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Thanks for giving that a try NoxStellaris.
I'm not completely familiar with the Aegis app and how it saves your information. If it's saved to the cloud you could try reinstalling the app. If it's saved locally I wouldn't recommend this as a first step as you could lose your 2FA tokens.
With that in mind I'd like to ask you to try creating a new Aegis item in 1Password to see if the behaviour is any different.
- Open and unlock 1Password for Android.
- Copy your Aegis password.
- Tap the "+ New Item" button and create a new Login item
- Paste your password into the password field, then save the item (it may also be helpful to name the item something distinct).
- Open the Aegis app, tap the password field, then select "Open 1Password".
- Search for and select the newly created item, then tap "Always Allow".
Does the password from the new item fill as expected? Let us know how that goes and thanks again!

Hi NoxStellaris! Thanks for writing in.
I did a quick test with the Aegis app and could consistently fill a password as expected. If you haven't recently could you check that both apps are up to date? If you typically tap the suggested Aegis item to fill, could you also try selecting the Open 1Password prompt then your Aegis item to see if there's any difference in behaviour?
Let us know how that goes, and thanks again!

Hello, thank you for responding. Both apps are up to date, and I did try the Open 1Password prompt, followed by selecting Aegis, but there was no difference. I have to click the three dots next to the item, go into its entry in 1Password, and manually copy the password.

Thank you for the advice! Unfortunately, this didn't work.

Clear Aegis app cache and re-enable autofill for it in 1Password settings. Restart your phone afterward.
