5 years agoAutofill on Android 12 doesn't seem to work
I just got a Pixel 6 Pro and have 1Password set up. 1Password is my autofill service.
When I add a new Google account, I long-press on the password entry widget and select "Autofill" from the bubble that comes up, but nothing happens.
I've tried turning off autofill in 1Password and turning it back on, but still nothing. Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

No I'm not - just the in-built one that pops up when you tap in a text box, 1P_Timothy. what's the point of having a mobile device if you have an external keyboard? OK, I have a disability which means a laptop's keyboard is too far away for me to reach without an external keyboard; this renders the laptop very non-portable. I don't want to go down that route with my tablet.

Hello HelenBubz thanks for your reply. Do you happen to be using a physical keyboard with your Samsung tablet?

I'm finding that none of the auto-fill logins work on my Samsung A7 tablet, @peri, I'm having to switch between 1Password and whichever app I'm wanting to log into and copy each component onto the clipboard and switch back to the app, paste it in, then repeat the process....... I find 1Password on my Mac absolutely gorgeous to use, it’s the mobile version I have difficulties with.

HelenBubz Thanks! 1Password can indeed have trouble with logins that are spread out over two pages. We hope to improve this in the future, and I'll pass your feedback along to our team.
@"Asyd Rayn" Were you able to resave the login manually as I suggested? Hopefully you can resave it, and use the new one everywhere so that you'd no longer need the others.

Hi @peri,
It's Lloyds Bank in the UK, but it's also every website that spreads the login process over two web pages, e.g. Google, eBay, Amazon (UK) though I'm imagining it's any Amazon site. - Former Member
@peri me either, but I do otherwise I'd get no pop-up because it won't work for the app on the phone or if I click a link in an email that opens on my chrome browser on the phone.

@"Asyd Rayn" I have an E*Trade account and I just need one login for it, which works across Android and all other platforms/browsers. I'm not sure why you need a separate login for each platform. Try https://support.1password.com/save-login-manually/ and let me know if you can use that new one everywhere.
HelenBubz If your problem is specific to a single banking site, then it's possible the problem is with that site rather than Autofill itself. Can you share the website you're having trouble with so we can test it on our end?

1P_Timothy Nope, I use Chrome on my desktop and phone.

I've tried a range of browsers on my Android tablet and none make 1password behave as it does on my desktop Mac - this is specifically reserved for my online banking. I've had to resort to using the apps which don't have quite the functionality of the websites.

Hey @"Asyd Rayn" thanks for the additional context.
Is your default browser on Android different than what your commonly use to browse? If you toggle Autofill Previews off and on from Settings > Autofill do you see any change in behavior?
