Autofill only works when both username and password field appear at the same time

Hello,

I am running Safari 18.4 on Mac 15.4.1. with 1P in the browser 8.10.70.27 and I'm sure someone else must have asked this before, but I'll be damned if I could find it! It has been going on for a while.

Several sites ask for your e-mail first, and only when you type it in and click enter does the password field appear. 1P appears not to be able to recognise the mail field so I cannot use autofill. A current example is https://my.smartthings.com/ (redirects to a Samsung account login page on account.samsung.com, but that's where my issue appears).

My Samsung Account in 1P is linked to account.samsung.com and Autofill is set to "Fill anywhere on this website". Evidently, that also seems to work - as soon as enter my mail and press enter, the password field appears and 1P can correctly autofill.

I'm sure this was reported before, like I said, but I was not successful at googling.

Thank you!

  • Hello ZyroBlue! 👋

Thanks for reaching out! 1Password should be able to fill your username even on pages where the password only appears after the email address is submitted. I've tested the Samsung webpage that you've provided and I can confirm that the autofill feature isn't working there. I've filed an internal issue with our development team to get this fixed.

For the time being, you can workaround the issue by clicking on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and then clicking Autofill next to your login credentials. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
