Autosubmit (that old chestnut...)

Wish to stop auto-submit, but have failed.
I have read all the old posts on this but none apply.

I have Settings/General/Submit automatically with Universal Autofill [Unticked]

Many previous Solutions advise to:

  • Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
  • Click Autofill & save.
  • Turn off "Sign in automatically after autofill".

But I have no 1Password icon in my browser toolbar (not in FireFox and not in Safari). I do have icons for other extensions (uBlock and PrivacyBadger) so I know icons can appear.

In FireFox, I can select Tools/Extensions & Themes/1Password, but there nothing much to set except Allow automatic updates, Run in Private windows.

What am I missing?

Mark

1Password 8.11.18
Firefox 145.0
MacOS 15.7.2

I understand that you're unable to turn off autosubmit in Firefox and Safari. Let's start by seeing why you don't see 1Password's icon in your browser's toolbar. Can you try the steps in this guide:

If those steps work to place 1Password's icon in your browser's toolbar then you can follow these steps to turn off autosubmit for all websites:

    1. Open your browser.
    2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
    3. Click Click Autofill & Save.
    4. Turn off "Sign in automatically after autofill".

Let me know how this goes.

Fantastic, HUGE thanks. That's solved very many weeks of frustration :-)

I followed your link to add the 1P icon to Firefox's toolbar and suddenly a whole new set of options and settings were available.

Confusing as Firefox has Tools/Extensions and Themes
Within that appears 1Password with an On/Off slider and a "..." icon, which leads to 'Manage'.

But within Manage, there is litle one can do. That was where I was looking for the Autosubmit setting - my bad.

      All good now. Thanks again.
