Mark_Sealey: I wanted to follow up and see if you're in a good state. It looks like your question about the subscription from Mac App Store wasn't answered yet, and I'm not sure the upgrade process was entirely clear, so let me take a shot at answering those.
You can download 1Password 8 from our website and what you'll actually get is an installer. The installer app will make sure you're in a good state and ready to upgrade to 1Password 8 (for example, it will verify all your vaults are already syncing with 1Password.com using a 1Password membership) and then it will download the appropriate architecture (Intel or Apple Silicon) for your machine.
When 1Password 8 launches it will find your existing 1Password accounts and you should simply need to enter your password to unlock and you'll be off to the races as all your data should now be visible.
As for your subscription through Apple, you're all set. There's nothing for you to do or change as your subscription will be unaffected.
The only other change you'll want to make is around the browser extension as you'll want the new one installed. It sounds like you're using Safari so once you have the app up and running, download 1Password for Safari from the Mac App Store and run it to get things setup. It's only a few button clicks.
I hope that helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
