In 1Password 7 we could collapse tag groups... Somehow this feature has been cancelled in 1Password8?! That's a big no-no, huuuuuuge bummer for enterprises sharing tons of password between employees, for which tag list can become insanely long.... This is one of the reasons I also reverted to V7. I have previously used 1P to store my Software Licence Keys - a hierarchy with Tags of Software Licences / Vendor / Product / Version. Most of the time "Software Licences" is a single line in the tag view, to be expanded when looking for a key. Since V8, 1P opens with this fully expanded every time.... I use 1P through the Tag structure most of the time. To add to the frustration, V7 used to open where you last had the tree open. V8 does not, so significant scrolling through a long list is now required every time (unless this has been fixed in more recent versions). Today I get a warning that V7 with the Classic Extension will stop working due to the end of 'Manifest V2' - the solution is an upgrade to V8 (hence why I am looking though the forum!) There are several features which I use regularly in V7 which were removed from V8 (example CTRL + Backslash ), hence a forced upgrade is a step backwards. Assuming that an upgrade of V7 to Manifest V3 is not going to happen, it would be good if there was some focus on restoring functionality removed in V8 (several examples are detailed in this forum). Using 1P to store Licence Keys in this way was a secure and convenient method that was driven by exploiting the functionality of the product. This is a minor, but significant change that breaks the usability. I doubt that I would have used this feature if V8 was the first experience....

I am also waiting with every update that this very basic function returns. Still disappointed after more than 3 years no progress at all... ☹️

Tags are useless when there are so many to scroll through. I only use search. Has there been any update on collapsible tag feature?

1Password 8 is a brand new app that was written from scratch and the feature wasn't technically "taken away", it needs to be coded again for 1Password 8 which hasn't happened yet due to work on other features and on bug fixes.

Earlier today, I did have a chance to speak to the team that is responsible for item management and I brought up tag collapsing to them again. While I don't have any concrete news to share, the team is aware of the demand for the feature and hopefully this is something that will be added to 1Password 8 in the future.

I'll continue to push for this functionality internally with the team. 🙂

Does 1Password ever release info on upcoming features? I have no idea if they are taking all of us seriously. Is it a dev or business issue?

1Password has had collapsible folders, then collapsible tags, up to & through version 7.
It makes no sense for them to have been taken away in version 8.
Repeated "assurances" by all of your team members, especially you Dave, that you are passing complainants' feedback along to the Product Team provides no reassurance at all.
Collapsibility should be brought back immediately.

Totally agree with Bimmerite. The app should reopen within the same tag group from when the app was closed - just like if used to do in 1PW7 (which I have reinstalled on windows to get around this limitation)

Having focused on attracting Lastpass users at the expense of pre-existing 1PW customers, the Lastpass users are now 1PW users, so maybe they carry some influence now. It is amazing that a version regression has existed for so long and that the founder of the product has no ability to direct/control the developers of his product. Not a great look...

Just joined the community so I could put my submission in for this feature.
I moved from LastPass to 1Password just recently and I've been very happy with the product so far.

I used nested folders in LastPass which converted to nested tags. I'm continuing to use nested tags. Without Tags collapsing I've ended up with a very long list to scroll through to find what I need. Nesting tags is essential for usability.

funny thing is that whenever 1Password Desktop (Mac) locks and I reopen it, instead of being at the last search or tag I was looking at it reverts back to the viewing all items. Thus having to scroll for a while to find where I left off. Collapsable tags would be huge.

In addition, it would be nice if the 1Password Desktop app remembers which tags were collapsed and which were not.
