Bring Back the Standalone Password Generator in Android – Not Just Hidden in Login Creation
Hello 1Password team and fellow users, I'd like to revisit a long-standing feature request that I’ve found repeated in several older threads — but never fully addressed: the ability to use the pas...

Hello Dave,
When you type it out like that, it does seem logical and more efficient. :)
The problem is, Android is not always that clean. To be fair, if there is a web option to create an account, I will always do that first before even attempting it on my phone because it's more clean. That being said, there are some apps that only have a mobile presence. The issue I sometimes find myself in is not knowing I'm going to need to generate an account. I might be in the middle of a process when suddenly I need to create an account. 1Password does not typically present in those instances like it does in a browser and I am faced with needing a password in that instant. In that instant (for me), it's easier to generate the password and save in a note until I'm ready to create the item in 1Password. Judge it all you want, that is what works for me. Even in the browser, I tend to generate the password even though one is suggested for me, so that I can paste it into notepad until I can verify it's in 1Password. I have been burned before with 1Password not saving my password (having a glitch of some sort) and then having to go through a Forgot Password situation. So, until I know it's in 1Password, I will paste it in Notepad. I'm trying to be more trusting and use the 1Password suggested, but it's a struggle (I'm seeking help 😁)
Having a standalone password generator can also be nice when needing to just simply generate a password to give to someone else (something I'm not saving). I'm an IT Security Engineer and I find myself generating passwords quite frequently. I typically use the browser extension as it's readily available, but sometimes my phone is my only option at the time.
There is a standalone option in the browser extension and there used to be in the app. It would be nice to have it back in the app. Sometimes, I really just need to generate a password. Simple as that.
Thanks for responding and hoping I made sense. Sorry for rambling.
