Thanks for answering those questions. Can you check to make sure that you have 1Password for Mac set to run in the background even if the main window is closed:
- Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
- Click on 1Password next to the in the menu bar.
- Click Settings.
- Make sure that "Keep 1Password in the menu bar" and "Start at login" are both turned on.
Then restart your Mac and try to reproduce the issue again. If those options were already on then let me know.-Dave

2 months agoHi Lorraine_! Thanks for writing in. That behaviour really does sound frustrating, I'm sorry for the trouble here.
I'd like to ask a few questions to help get a better idea what might be causing this:
- If you're using 1Password in any other browsers on your Mac do you see the same behaviour?
- If you open and unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app directly are you prompted to use Touch ID on the first try?
- What's the integration status of the 1Password extension in Firefox (Right click the 1Password icon in Firefox's toolbar > Settings > General)?
Let us know if you have any questions and thanks again!

So, Timothy, do you have any thoughts about how to resolve this?
Thanks.
