I'm sorry for the delay in replying. Thanks for sharing the cause of the padding issue that you ran into.

STILL A BUG: However, the "Open Item In New Window" button still does not work.

This is a known issue that our development team is aware of, I've added your report to the internal tracking item for the issue. Hopefully it's resolved soon in a future update to 1Password for Linux.
