Why are there in-line suggestions when Auto Fill is completely turned off?

Thanks for following up and joining 1Password! Glad to have you a board!

I can definitely understand how an auto-submit feature would be convenient. This is a feature that was intentionally removed a while back for two main reasons:

• Reliability - Websites didn't always behave as 1Password expected, resulting in details not being filled correctly or fields being left blank.
• Security - It is unsafe to send keyboard presses on behalf of the user, and imitating keystrokes (such as virtually pressing the Enter key) can be exploited by malware.

We've tried to find alternatives to this but so far have not found a solution that is both reliable and secure.

I apologize if this impacts your workflow, however the good news is that 1Password automatically leaves focus on the filled field, so you will always be able to press Enter to advance rather than needing to manually click the submit button in situations like this.

If you have any other suggestions, just let us know! Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I signed up for a month but working with 1P, it looks like I'll upgrade to yearly.

The only suggestion I would make is that on a site that requires a user name and password, that 1P not only fills the fields but submits as well.

I'm sorry for the late reply. You can certainly share a Document item, or an item with files attached to it, using 1Password's secure item sharing feature:

• Securely share 1Password items with anyone

Note that files must finish the upload process before they can be shared and items with individual files over 250 MB in size can’t be shared.

Are you running into an issue when trying to share an item?

@NMLoki I cannot speak for 1Password and tell why it isn't implemented to also share documents attached to 1Passwortd items, only say that it's not implemented.
The storage that is provided by 1Password is the storage required to seamlessly share your items for you personally on all the devices you own. This storage makes every change you make on one device magically appear on all other devices where you are signed in to 1Password in an instant.
It's not designed for sharing arbitrary files to the world like one of the common file sharing providers. That's a different design.

If your documents are small, consider adding their content directly into the 1Password item. You can create as many custom fields as you like, structure these in sections, so presenting your information this way might even be better than just having an external document you need to open within an unsecure 3rd party app.

If file sharing is a main use case for 1Password for you, you will probably need to find a different service provider.

You're taking me too literally. How about a Word Doc I created on my PC or a .pdf or a text file? So I need to upload to some cloud storage to share. I was under the impression that 1Password came with storage

@NMLoki Isn't sharing a Google doc just sharing the link to that doc on Google? You can add as many URL custom fields to any 1Password item, so add one, enter the link to the Google doc in it, and share this 1Password item.

An example, just created for the sake of this post, share valid for 30 days:
