Cannot Copy text from UI and Quick Search discrepancies, other

Been using 1P since v3. I've just switched from 6 to 7, signed up for cloud account and I'm frustrated/confused with some basic things.

The Quick Search I'm referring to is not the in-browser version, but the 'Show 1Password' popup screen from the menubar or the keyboard shortcut.

Copy text from the UI
As I'm doing some house cleaning, creating records and moving them between vaults, I cannot copy any visible text in the UI unless I 'edit' the item. So in creating a new, similar record, I have to command-E to edit, find highlight the notes or title to copy, copy it, then save the item all before pasting to a different item. What is the reasoning behind not allowing the UI text to be copy-able without editing the item?

Quick Search discrepancies
I copied a 12 of items from a standalone vault to a new cloud vault. All seemed to copy without issue. They all show in the App UI. Then in Firefox, icloud site, I invoke Quick Search and nothing from an icloud item shows up. Not using the title, the address, the username, nothing. I duplicated the item, same issue. I created a NEW item and copied each piece of data (see above!), and the new item shows up in the Quick Search. Nothing I could do would make the original one work. Makes me wonder how many of the others copied from stand alone vaults will also not show...

Quick Search popup filter always shows Suggestions
Maybe I don't understand the UI here, but the Quick Search has a popup filter that always displays 'Suggestions -- X' where X is the context of whatever screen the Quick Search was called (Shift-Command-\ in my case). Even when pulling the filter down and selecting 'All Items' or 'Passwords' as a group, there is no display that shows what filter (or not) is selected. Should it? How does one know what we're looking at?

    Great questions!

    I wasn't able to replicate being unable to copy from an item not in edit mode.

    Do you have the new vault excluded in All Vaults? 1Password mini (what you're calling Quick Search) has a vault selector, and you can access it here:

    It sounds like you may have that new 1Password account vault not included in All Vaults, and that's why you're not seeing it. You can edit which vaults are included in All Vaults from Preferences > Vaults > Show in All Vaults.

    I was able to replicate the issue you mentioned about the dropdown not updating, so I've filed an issue to see if we can improve the state of play in the future.
